JORDAN Name of Newspaper: Date of Newspaper: 6 March 1914 JORDAN DEATH OF FORMER CLINTONIAN Thomas JORDAN Formerly in Business in Clinton Died in Bloomington Last Sunday Thomas A. JORDAN died in St. Joseph hospital in Bloomington at 1:15 Sunday morning following one weeks illness of pneumonia. Mr. JORDAN was taken ill at his home in Saybrook, but said nothing to his family about his illness, neither did he state his destination and it was only after he was considered in a dangerous condition that relatives at Saybrook were notified of his illness. For the past ten years Mr. JORDAN had been manager of the city elevator at Saybrook. Previous to the above time he was engaged in the grocery business with his brother. Jas. JORDAN in the room now occupied by W. H. ELY, at the north- west corner of the square. Deceased was born in Wapella June 2, 1870, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James JORDAN. He leaves his father James JORDAN, of this city, three brothers and two sisters, George F. JORDAN of Bloomington, John W. JORDAN and Mrs. J. F. GREENE of Wapella, James J. and Miss Nellie JORDAN of this city. Mr. JORDAN was never married. He was a member of the St. John's Catholic church of this city. His mother died September 13, 1913. The remains were brought to Clinton Sunday afternoon at 2:50 in the interurban an were taken to the home of the father, James JORDAN of West Washington street. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10:30 from St. John's Catholic church, Father HEARN officiating.
