Williams Name of Newspaper: Date of Newspaper: WILLIAMS DEATH OF FORMER CITIZEN John H. WILLIAMS Died at Strong City. Oklahoma, Last Friday, Aged Sixty Years The numerous friends of J. H. WILLIAMS, formerly a prominent resident of this county, were surprised and grieved to learn of his death which occurred at Strong City, Okla., last Friday, following a surgical operation which was performed several weeks ago. Deceased was a native of Indiana, his parents coming to Illinois and locating in Tunbridge township in an early day. He was a member of a large family, one brother J. C. WILLIAMS, is still living in his home being in this city. The latter is the father of the State's Attorney L. O. WILLIAMS, another brother L. B. WILLIAMS, died in this city several years ago, leaving a widow two sons and two daughters, the latter, Miss Faye, teacher in the city schools and Miss Maurine member of the coming graduating class of the Clinton High School, both of whom reside with their mother. J. H. WILLIAMS was married to Miss Bell DAVENPORT, and to them were born the following, who survive the parents; D. D. WILLIAMS, Chicago; John WILLIAMS, Oklahoma; Mrs. Samuel PARKS, Hunter Texas. The wife and the mother died three years ago. Deceased was a prominent Democrat, a member of the Christian church, Knights of the Pythias, M.W.A. and Court of Honor. Proceeding his removal to Oklahoma he lived for several years in this city being a grain buyer at the time. The body was brought to Kenney, where funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. T. T.
