Obituary of William Joel Parker, Douglas County, IL Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Terry Parker FROM THE CHAMPAIGN NEWS-GAZETTE; NOVEMBER 14, 1951 VILLA GROVE, Nov. 14---Funeral services will be held here Friday for William Joel Parker, about 65, Chicago and Eastern Illinois railroad engineer. Mr. Parker died Monday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Nannie Robinson, Hillsboro, where he had been visiting three weeks. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Baptist church. Reverend John Hasel will officiate and burial will be in Villa Grove cemetary. The body will arrive at the Mott funeral home Thursday. Mr. Parker had lived in Villa Grove 50 years. His first wife, the former Ida Mccollom, whom he married in 1906 in Kentucky, died Dec. 19, 1930. His second wife, Ruth, died last winter. Surviving are a son, John Parker, Paris, and four daughters: Mrs. Stella Davis, Dalton, Ga. Della Mae, Danville, Mrs. Irene Nadolny, Toledo, and Mrs. Robinson. He also leaves two sisters: Mrs. Pearl Lake, Ft.
