Obituary of Carrie ALLRED, Edgar County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Cindy McCachern Obituary of Carrie Allred September 27, 1921 Carrie Kathleen Allred, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Allred, was born in Edgar county, near Paris, June 27, 1907, and died in Marshall, Ill., September 27, 1921. When she was two years of age her parents moved to Clarksville where Carrie was brought up in the schools and attended the Methodist church and Sunday school. She came to Marshall a little more than a year ago and lived here with her grandmother, Mrs. Ella Miller, till her death. Carrie was the only child. Her mother preceded her in death by three years and her father by one year. When she came to Marshall a year ago, Carrie found great delight in her place in the Methodist Sunday school and was always there till sickness laid hold upon her. Her mother was an only chilid, so she leaves a grandmother doubly bereft. Her death is mourned by two grandmothers, one great grandmother, four uncles, and one aunt. Always patient in suffering. She was deeply grateful for the many kindnesses and attentions of her numerous friends. Her white soul loomed large as her frail body dropped away into death. Her faith in God was simple, implicit and sustaining. The funeral services were held at the home in Marshall and at Clarksville Wednesday where interment was made. The services were in charge of Rev. C. E. Pettit of the Marshall Methodist church. Rev. Bert Eckles assisted at Clarksville. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations or persons.
