Obituary of Loretta Jennie Shy ARTERBURN, Edgar County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Cindy McCachern Obituary of Loretta Jennie Shy Arterburn   Thursday, 29 Sept. 1921, Kansas (IL) Journal   Mrs. J. A. Arterburn passed away Wednesday morning at the Paris hospital following an illness of ten days with appendicitis.  She submitted to an operation last Thursday.   Loretta Jennie Shy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Shy, was born near Kansas, Nov. 6, 1867.  She was united in marriage in 1890 to J. A. Arterburn who survives her.  Two children are left to mourn the loss of a good mother, Robert Arterburn and Pauline, wife of Cecil Honn.  The deceased also leaves one sister, Miss Nelle Shy, and two brothers, Webster Shy and W. C. Shy of Olney; a half-sister, Mrs. Claud Kirkham, resides south of the city.   Mrs. Arterburn, who has spent all of her life in this community, is widely knwn and was highly esteemed by everyone.  She was a home loving woman and never too busy to render aid to her neighbors. She ahs been a member ofthe Kansas Christian church since early womanhood.   The funeral services will be held at the family residence Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock, the Rev. W. H.
