Boyer Kansas Journal, Thursday, 26 May 1921 Death came as a relief to the long and patient suffering of Lena H. Boyer at eight o'clock Friday evening. Mrs. Boyer had been in ill health for several months and in February submitted to a serious operation, hoping to get relief. The deceased was born in Litchfield, Feb. 11, 1863 and moved to Kansas with her parents in 1870. She was united in marriage to H. G. Boyer, May 4, 1892 and they have since made their residence in this vicinity. Mrs. Boyer is survived by her husband, one sister, Emily H. Hoog, and two brothers, Walter Hoog and Edward Hoog. Lena Boyer united with the Presbyterian church of this city in 1882 and has been a devoted member. She lived a sweet Christian life, always more thoughtful of others than of self. She was a devoted wife, thinking always of her husband first. She nursed her affliction in profound secrecy, not wanting to worry others with her suffering. The funeral services were held at the late residence Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. W. C. Snider, pastor of the Presbyterian church at Morris, assisted by the Rev. A. W. Bartholomew of this city. Two songs, "In the Garden," and "My Father Knows," were furnished by the following quartette, Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Pinnell, Mrs. R. E. Wilhoit, and Pope Wilhoit, accompanied by John M. Hite. The pallbearers were: B. H. Pinnell, H. F. Pinnell, J. Y. Wilhoit, Horton Juntgen, William Lacy and F. L. Neal. Interment was made at Fairview cemetery. The following relatives and friends from out-of-town attended the funeral rites: Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Hoog of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. John Darrigan, Mrs. Ed Eckenrode, Rush Darrigan, John Darrigan, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Hobbs, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff McNutt and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Shan Stiff of Charleston, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Myers of Indianapolis, Mrs. Mansa Badatyne, Herrick Boyer, Mr. and Mrs. Emery Cornwell, Mrs. Frank Ault, Mrs. Chas. Hamon, Dr. and Mrs. Adams and Miss Jessie Hodge of Paris, and Mrs. J. W.
