Boyer Thursday, 4 February 1954, Kansas (IL) Journal Sylvan A. Boyer Dies From Heart Ailment; Rites Are on Monday Sylvan Boyer, 68 year of age, passed away in Paris hospital early Saturday morning, where he had been receiving treatment for a week for a heart ailment. The funeral service was held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Forbes-Hutchins funeral home in charge of the Rev. Don Tegarden of Kansas Christian church. Mrs. Sherman Pinnel and Mrs. Zeno Lauher sang "Abide With Me," accompanied by Mrs. George Kirchner. Bearers were Edgar Boyer, Marvin Kirkham, R. H. Boyars, Archie Bennett, Wayne Perkinson and Dr. F. P. Kioker. Interment was in Kansas Fairview cemetery. Mr. Boyer was born at Kansas on Feb. 28, 1885, the son of George W. and Josephine Wilhoit Boyer. For a number of year he was engaged in the restaurant business here. He is survived by his wife, the former Belva Green, three sisters, Mrs. Iva McComb, of Osslan, Ind., Mrs. Herbert Norris of Belleville, Mrs. J. H. Kirkham of Kansas, and two brothers, O. E. Boyer and George W.
