The two brothers died after the pick-up truck they were in collided with a Unit 4 school bus at the intersection of Edgar and Walcott Streets in Paris. John, the passenger, was pronounced dead on arrival, Thursday (Feb. 27, 1969) at the Paris Community Hospital. Raymond, the driver, died at 6:45 a.m. Friday (Feb. 28, 1969). The two men were born in Edgar county, the sons of Obodor and Charlotte Craig. Raymond was born on April 29, 1906 and was married to the former Florence Goosey who survives, along with five daughters, Mrs. Lucille Willming of Georgetown, Mrs. Katherine Camp of Chrisman, Mrs. Ruth Pine of Paris, Mrs. Lois Bogle of Mississippi and Karen Sue at home. Two stepsons, Wayne Rhoads of St. Bernice, Ind. and Raymond Rhoads of Paris, and 12 grandchildren also survive. John was born Aug. 25, 1908, and was married to the former Opal Montgomery who preceded him in death in 1947. Survivors include one son, Robert of Chrisman Route 3; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Davidson, Mrs. Carrie Neal and Mrs. Mamie Boyer, all of Chrisman and Mrs. Linda Brinkerhoff of Indianapolis and one step-daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Brown of Chrisman. Other survivors of the brothers include one brother, Floyd of Charleston; one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Paxton of Mattoon; two stepbrothers, Alfred Wheeler of Chrisman and Henry Wheeler of Charleston. Friends may call at the Blume-Stewart Funeral Home in Paris after 2 p.m. today. Burial will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
