Obituary of Eliza Jane Wilhoit Evinger, Edgar County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Cindy McCachern Obituary of Eliza Jane Wilhoit Evinger Kansas (IL) Journal, Thursday, 6 March 1924 Mrs. Wm. H. Evinger passed away at the family residence Tuesday afternoon following a stroke of apoplexy which she suffered two weeks ago. Eliza Jane Wilhoit was born Feb. 27, 1846. She was united in marrigae to Wm. H. Evinger, Nov. 4, 1869. Seven children were born to this union. Those surviving together with the husband, are Ernest, of Paris; Corlias, of Terre Haute; Mrs. Chas. H. Spangler, of Chicago, and Celia, at home. Four grandchildren also survive, Harold, Mary, Charles and Betty Jane. Mrs. Evinger united with the Christian church when only fourteen years of age and her devout life as a loyal Christian woman of strong faith and character was an influence felt in the entire community. The funeral service was held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the Christian church conducted by the pastor, the Rev. H. G.
