Poulter Pinnell 16 January 1919, Kansas (IL) Journal Mrs. W. I. S. Pinnell, aged eighty-six years, passed away early Wednesday morning at the family home just outside the city on Front street. Funeral servicies were conducted at the family residence this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. C. Towles. Interment followed in Pleasant Hill cemetery. Martha J. Poulter, daughter of John D. and Mary Poulter, was born in Kansas township Oct. 4, 1832, and departed this life Jan 15, 1919. She was united in marriage to W. I. S. Pinnell October 16, 1858, to which union six children were born: J. E., Johnie, W. O., H. F. Leroy and Emma, four of whom have preceded her to the great beyond. Surviving are her husband and two sons, W. O. and H. F. of this city, besides a great number of relatives and friends. She comes of one of the pioneer families of Kansas township, her parents moving here from Kentucky about 1830, she being the last child of the original Poulter family. Mrs. Pinnell united with the Christian church at Hitesville when about twelve years of age and always lived a very conscientious and christian life. While her educational advantages were very limited, she always studied her bible and was a regular attendant at Sunday school and church services as long as her health permitted. All her schoolmates except five have preceded her in death.
