Obituary of Edwin Stark, Edgar County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Cindy McCachern Obituary of Edwin Stark Kansas (IL) Journal, 5 September 1935 Edwin Stark, Prominent Farmer, Passes Away Funeral Held on Tuesday Morning at the Concord Baptist Church Edwin Stark passed away at his home in the Pleasant Hill community Sunday morning after an illness of several weeks. Although his death was sudden, it was not wholly unexpected. The funeral service was held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning at Concord Primitive Baptist church, conducted by Elder S. A. Dawson. W. L. Lauher, and George W. Boyer sang three songs, "In the Garden," "The Old Rugged Cross," and "God Will Take Care of You." Bearers were Chester Axton, Isaac Wheeler, George Heltsley, Winford Tyler, Elmer Nay and Oscar Nay. Interment was in Concord cemetery. Edwin, the eldest son of Parren B. and Margaret Stark was born Feb. 16, 1872. On July 3, 1893, he was married to Olive Redman, who survives with two children, Mrs. Vona Webright of Chicago, and Mrs. Marjorie Thews of Gary, Ind.; also six grandchildren. He also leaves his mother, three sisters, Mrs. Clem Keran, Mrs. Clarence Fitzjarraled, and Miss Lily Stark, and two brothers, Riley and Summerhill Stark, with many other relatives and friends to mourn their loss. Mr. Stark was at one time Commissioner of Highways of Kansas township.
