Obituary of Ellis Early Wilhoit, Edgar County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Cindy McCachern Obituary of Ellis Early Wilhoit Kansas (IL) Journal, Thursday, December 29, 1938 Ellis Early Wilhoit, Well-Known as Pleasant Hill farmer, dies Saturday Ellis Early Wilhoit, 68 years of age, well-known farmer of the Pleasant Hill community, southeast of Kansas, passed away Saturday. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Pleasant Hill Christian Church, of which he had been a member for 50 years. The service was in charge of the Rev. Bruce Nay, of Atlanta, Ga. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery. The decedent, a son of Robert and Sarah Wilhoit, was born Feb. 24, 1870. He was united in marriage on Dec. 16, 1891, with Emma Dean and to this union seven children were born, five of them dying in infancy. The surviving children are Clarence and Wilbur. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Clarence C. and Bobby Dean Wilhoit. Mr. Wilhoit's wife passed away in 1927. Brothers and sisters of the deceased are Dr. D. L.
