Wilhoit, wife of R. E. Wilhoit, President of the Stockton Savings and Loan Society Bank, died at an early hour this morning after lingering illness at the family residence, No. 347 East Flora Street. Mrs. Wilhoit was one of the pioneer residents of this city and by her charitable disposition and many lovable traits of character whon many true friends, all of whom mourn her loss. She was a great lover of her home and was never happier than when at her own fireside ministering to the wants of her children. During her illness, she was surrounded by the members of her family who battled bravely with the Grim Reaper and did everything possible to alleviate the suffering of the dying woman. The decased several days before the end realized that the inevitable was at hand and showed admirable fortitude. Mrs. Wilhoit was attacked with heart disease three weeks ago and a few days latter her trouble became considerable aggravated by a complcation of stomach ailments. The best of physicians were called in, and did everything known to medical science to combat the disease. The deceased was born in St. Johns, New Brunswick, and came to Stockton in 1879. She came of a prominent and influential fmaily. In December 1873, she was married to R. E. Wilhoit. The funeral, which will be private will be held next Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock from the family residence. She is survived by her husband, three sons--George E., Eugene I, and Arthur Wilhoit--and two daughters--Mrs. Sydney N. Hodgkins and Mrs. Albert E.
