Obituary of Joseph ZINK, Edgar County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Cindy McCachern Obituary of Joseph Zink Thursday, 11 February 1926, Kansas (IL) Journal Joseph Zink, aged 92 years, died at 2 o'clock Thursday morning of last week, from general debility, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Stella Epperson, south of Kansas. The funeral service was held Saturday afternoon at the home his son, Frank D. Zink, southeast of Kansas, conducted by Rev. H. M. Brooks of Paris, assisted by Rev. S. F. Spainhower of Kansas. Mr. Zink was born near Salem, in Washington couty, Ind., Jan 28, 1834. When a young man he came to Edgar county and lived with an uncle, Emanuel Zink, near Grandview. On Feb. 10, 1861, he was married to Catherine A. Greene of Martinsburg, Ind. Since 1862 they have resided on the Zink homestead, four miles south of Kansas. To this union were born eight children, Mrs. Josephine Cornwell, of Paris; Mrs. Nettie Redman, (deceased), Ernest E. of Menlo Park, Cal.; Mrs. Stella Epperson, Mrs. Ethel Vansceyk, Sherman, (deceased) and W. T. and Frank D., all of near Kansas. Mr. Zink's wife passed away June 9, 1914. He is survived by 24 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
