Adin Wilhoit Passes Away in Paris Hospital Funeral Was to be Held This Afternoon in the Christian Church R. Adin Wilhoit, 53 year of age, passed away at 10 o'clock Monday night in the Paris hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks. His death was caused from peritonitis which developed after an operation for relief from appendicitis. Mr. Wilhoit was a well-known and prominent farmer of this community. The funeral service was to be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Christian church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Kenneth Martin. Music was to be furnished by Scott Ford of Ashmore, accompanied by John M. Hite at the piano. Burial was to be in Fairview cemetery with the Kansas Masonic order conducting brief Masonic rites. Casket bearers were: Adin Baber, Asa B. Greathouse, R. R. Tate, Dr. B. H. Saxton, John W. Brown and John Thiel. Rufus Adin Wilhoit was born on a farm south of Kansas on Sept. 22, 1883, the son of Owen E. and Ora Eva Wilhoit. On Oct. 12, 1904, he was married to Dorothy Richmond, who survives together with two children, Mrs. John Newell of Charleston, and Lewis Adin Wilhoit, at home. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. O. E. Wilhoit, and a brother, R. E. Wilhoit, both os Kansas. The family moved to Kansas in 1924 where they have since resided.
