Obituary of Sarah Louise Wilhoit, Edgar County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Cindy McCachern Obituary of Sarah Louise Wilhoit Thursday, 19 April 1951, Kansas (IL) Journal Mrs. Sarah Louise Wilhoit, 86 years of age, wife of the late Oscar Wilhoit, passed away at 7:30 o'clock Thursday evening in the Watson Nursing home at Chrisman where she had been for nearly two years. The funeral service was held Sunday afternoon in the Forbes Hutchins Funeral home with the Rev. C. J. Grimes of Grandview and W. A. Huber of the Kansas Presbyterian church, officiating. John Hite provided piano music at the close of the service. Bearers were John Brown, A. L. Stanfield, Arthur Wilhoit, C. A. Pike, Dale C. Wright and Frank Sexton. Interment was in Kansas Fairview cemetery. Mrs. Wilhoit was born in St. Louis on April 5, 1865, the daugher of Robert and Juliet Davis Owens. She came to Kansas with her parents when a small child. On June 5, 1893, she was married to Mr. Wilhoit. His death occurred Oct. 9, 1930. Mrs. Wilhoit was one of twelve children, only two of whom are living, T. J. Owen of Indianapolis and Mrs. Ida Nay, now of Paris. Also surving is a stepson, A. D. Wilhoit of Minneapolis, Minn.
