Obituary of Sally Wilhoit, Edgar County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Cindy McCachern Obituary of Sally Wilhoit Kansas (IL) Journal, Thursday, 8 March 1906 Mrs. Sally Wilhoit died last Saturday morning at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Cora Neal in Mattoon, following an illness of several days' duration, resulting from old age. The deceased was born in Oldham county, Kentucky, August 30, 1821, where she lived until grown to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Irvin Wilhoit in 1839, and to this union were born 11 children, five of whom are living as follows: Mrs. John Tucker, Pittsburgh, Kan.; Mrs. Lucy Ralph, Rich Hill, Mo.; G. E. Wilhoit, Bloomington, Ill, Mrs. Mattie Ewell and Miss Estella Wilhoit, Mattoon. Her husband died many years ago. She has been a resident of this township until two or three years ago, when she went to Mattoon to reside with her granddaughter. The funeral service was held on Monday of this week from the residence of W. C. Pinnell in this city by Elder H. M. Brooks.
