Last WILL & Testament of E. B. Jones
 
In the name of God amen
I Ephraim B. Jones of the city of Paris,  County  of  Edgar  and  State  of
Illinois of the age of Seventy-one years and being of sound mind and memory
do make, publish and declare this my last WILL & TESTAMENT in maner flowing
that is to say;
First I give and bequeath to my wife Martha R. Jones  the  use  of  all  my
property both Real & Personal during her natural life at  her  death  after
paying all funeral expenses and all other debts against my estate.  I  give
and devise all the rest residue and  remainder  of  my  Real  and  Personal
Estate of names and nature whatsoever to my said sons and  daughters  Sarah
E. Shawhan, Helen Johnson, Martha A. Jones, Daniel C Jones, Owen  S.  Jones
and the heirs of John F. Jones (Deceased) to  be  divided  equally  between
them. Share and share alike Nevertheless should my grandson Henry C  Beasly
become a sober man to the satisfaction of the minds of a  majority  of  the
above named heirs -he shall receive- during the course of  the  settlement-
of my Estate- one hundred and fifty dollars, $150.00 out of each  share  of
the above named heirs. But-should the said Henry C. Beasley continue to  be
intoxicated- three years after the signing of this  instrument-  he  thenby
forfeits forever all claims against my estate save one #1.00 which shall be
paid to the said Henry C. Beasley by my executors out- of my estate- and  I
hereby appoint my sons Daniel C Jones & Owen S.  Jones  sole  executors  of
this my last will and testament hereby revoking all  former  wills  bye  me
made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 5 day  of  May
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

The above instrument-consisting of  one  sheet  was  at  the  date  thereof
signed, sealed published and declared by the said Ephraim B. Jones  as  and
for his last will and testament in presence of us who at his request and in
his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as
witness thereto Jackson M Sheots residing at Paris Edgar Co., IL; Fiddem S.
Kester residing at Paris Edgar Co., IL
