One bey year old colt four head of cattle which have usually been called hers & Unto my beloved Son Enoch Madison I bequeath the land that I now possess lying and being in the County of Edgar and State of Illinois to wit the east half of the north East quarter of Section fourteen in township thirteen north of Range twelve west containing eighty acres with all the appurtenance there unto belonging And I bereby appoint Joseph P. Jones Sole executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made In Writing Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 31st of October 1829 Thomas (his X mark) Jones (seal) Signed Sealed and delivered by the above named Thomas Jones to be his last Will and testament in presence of us who have hereto subscribed our names as witness in presence of the testator.(Attest) J J Phans, Miron Ives, Smith Shaw. State of Illinois } Edgar County } At a probate Court held for the County aforesaid at Paris on Monday the 7th day of December 1829 the within last will and Testament of Thomas Jones deceased was produced in open Court and proved by the oath of Smith Shaw and Merion Ives two of the subscribing witnesses thereto as the law directs and thereupon the same was ordered to be recorded.
