Louis Draves, 79, of Champaign, a Dieterich native, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 
1976, at his home. He was born in Dieterich on April 12, 1897, the youngest 
child of Charles and Elizabeth Wands Draves. He married Golda Mackey November 
8, 1922 at Monticello, who survives. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Eva 
Hoelscher of Champaign; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Cora Draves of Dieterich. 
Preceding him in death was a daughter, Lucille, who died April 25, 1937 in 
Seymour, IL; two sisters, Edythe Gust and Martha Schroeder; and one brother, 
Edward Draves. The funeral was held Tuesday at Owens funeral home in 
Champaign, with burial in Mackey cemetery, White Heath. Those attending the 
funeral from the Dieterich area were Mrs. Ruth Smith of Effingham, Mr. and 
Mrs. Glenn Draves and Mrs. Cora Draves of Dieterich.
