All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/il/ilfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Deborah Zellers ddzellers@fairpoint.net November 25, 2008, 10:25 pm Dieterich Gazette July 1936 John Frederich Moeller, who departed this life on July 25, 1936, at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 18 days, was born on March 7, 1867 at Proviso, Ill.; the son of John Moeller and his wife, Marie, nee Fritz. In 1873 his parents moved to Jasper county, Grove Township. In 1879 his parents again moved and this time to St. Francis Township, Effingham county, about one mile east of his present home. Mr. Moeller attended the Parochial school of the St. Paul's Congregation, and it was here that he renewed his baptismal vows in confirmation on April 10, 1881. On April 18, 1892 he entered the holy estate of matrimony with Annette Jackson. God blessed this union with two children: Mrs. Ed Hetzer of near Montrose and the other child died in infancy. The lord however servered this union on September 4, 1895, when his wife departed this life. On May 19, 1898 he was united in holy wedlock to Miss Karoline Gust. To this union were born four children, who survive him; namely Herbert and Hilda at home, Louis of Effingham and Mrs. Vernonn Koop of St. Francis township. Mr. Moeller has lived at his present home since 1892. Also surviving besdie his wife, five children and three grandchildren are: five brothers; namely Henry of Adrian, William of Chilton, Wis., Barney of St. Francis township, Effingham, co.; two cousins, Henry and Gustav Wilkens of Thief River, Minn, and other relatives and a host of friends. A brief funeral service was held at the late home Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock after which the funeral cortege proceeded to Grace Lutheran church at Dieterich where the last sad rites were conducted. Burial was made at St. Paul's Lutheran parish cemetery. Rev. J. L. Steube officiated at all services. Memorial wreaths were given in honor of the deceased by; Mr. Barney Moeller and family; Mr. Martin Moeller and family; Ladies Aid of Grace Lutheran church.
