There is a post card addressed to Mr. David Campbell, Gibson City, Ill. dated June the 25th --77 from a John Mitchell requesting payment: Mr. Campbell, Dr. Sr. I have inquired and found that wages by the day is generally $1.00. And as I entend to go away I would like what is due me this week. The whole amount is $4.75 Paid in Butter (4 lb 6 oz at 18 cents per lb.) making 7 bits leaving $4.00 due. If you have'nt the money. Please give me an order, so I can get it this week. Times are very hard and I need the money. Nancy Jane Campbell Daughter of D. D. was born July 16th AD 1847 at 5 O'clock in the evening. No other family information listed. The last pages contain songs and hymns written by David Campbell dated from 1842 through 1849 Last page contains a promisary note to David Campbell as follows: John Burnett his hand and pen he may get good but God knows when this 3rd March 1839 Wm.
