He was 76 years old. The funeral was held at the M.E. church in Gibson City, the services being performed by Rev. G.L. McClanathan. Burial was in the Gibson Cemetery. Heike Freese was born in Hanover, Germany on June 5, 1841. On March 5, 1873, he was married to Miss Anna Steinman, who died June 14, 1894. He is survived by children Mrs. Anna Cater of Cowden, Ill.; Mrs. Fanny Harm of Williams, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Bloodgood and Mrs. Lizzie Neiswander of Sibley, Ill., Herman Freese of Manson, Iowa; Mrs. Maggie Janssen of Milford, Iowa; John Freese of Clear Lake, Iowa. Two sons died in infancy. Besides his children he leaves 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild and a brother and sister in Morrisonville, Ill. Mr. Freese lived in Menard Co. for 6 years, moving from there to Springfield, for a year then moving to Ford Co. From about 1900-1909 he lived in Iowa (about 1900 - 1909) then he returned to Illinois, and since then he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Neiswander.
