That said soldier as affiants are informed gave up labor on the farm, his usual occupation on account of his health not being good. That they were present at the death of JEPTHA MARTIN who died very suddenly in 1873. That he was not sick but a very short time. That he was taken with severe vomiting and lived only about 24 hours after he was taken ill but as to the name of the disease of which he died affiants do not know.
