Obit of Mary Lois Austin Dated in by hand in ink as Nov 25, 1946. Newspaper unknown but probably the Daily American of West Frankfort ILL. Mary Lois Austin, 51, Died Today at Home of Brother Miss Mary Lois Austin, 51, died at 3 o'clock this morning at the home of her brother, Lyman Austin, 301 North Benton road. Miss Austin had been in failing health since last April and ill at the home of her brother since last June. Before she was stricken ill, Miss Austin had been employed as a nurse in St. Louis since 1927. Besides her brother she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Soloman Austin of this city; four nieces, Mrs. Lester Jones, Miami, Fla.; Mrs. Adrian Bennett, Misses Mary Evelyn and Bettye June Austin of this city. Miss Austin was a member of the Union Avenue Christian Church in St. Louis. The body is lying in state at the Lyman Austin home. Funeral rites will be observed at 1 pm Wednesday from Trinity Methodist church with Rev. Thomas E. Harper and Rev. Ross Smith officiating. Interment will be in Big Prairie cemetery near Carmi. The casket will not be opened at the church.
