Mrs. Sally Ann Avery died in Johnston City Mrs. Sally Ann Avery, 79, of Johnston City, pioneer resident of Williamson county died at 4:13 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at her home, 1113 Burgess Avenue. She was the widow of the late George W. Avery and the daughter of Jesse and Nancy Felts, early settlers of Williamson County. Mrs. Avery was born near Johnston City and lived all her life in that county. She had been in failing health for seven years and critically ill for three weeks. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. H.E. Roberts, with whom she made her home; a granddaughter, Mrs. Onis McFarland, and a great-grandchild, of Johnston City. Two brothers, Henry Dougherty of Galatia and C.M. Dougherty of West Frankfort, and two sisters, Mrs. Will Hall of West Frankfort and Mrs. Sherman Owens of Pittsburg, also survive. Funeral rites will be observed Thursday at 2 pm from the home in Johnston City with Elder C.N. Weaver, pastor of the Primitive Baptist church, officiating. Interment will be in the Johnston City cemetery.
