Obit of Henry "Newt" Fleming Dated in ink as Mar 2, 1956. Newspaper is unknown but probably Johnston City or Marion. "Newt" Fleming of Johnston City Succumbs Today Henry N. "Newt" Fleming, 1205 Jefferson Street, Johnston City, died at his home at 2 am today. He had been in failing health several months. Fleming, 64, was district billing clerk for the Bell and Zoller Coal Co. at his Buckhorn mine, east of Johnston City. He had worked for Bell and Zoller 13 years. Born two miles southwest of Johnston City, he had spent his entire life in the county. He was a member of the Washington Avenue Baptist church in Johnston City. In addition to his wife Theresa, he is survived by a son, Robert Fleming, Downey Calif., and a grandson. A brother, Hugh Fleming, Johnston City postmaster and three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Ahls and Mrs. George Felts, both of Gary Ind. and Mrs. Faye Stamper, Guymon Okla. also survive. The body will lie in state after 6 pm today at the Murman-Wilson funeral home in Johnston City, Funeral arrangements were incomplete today.
