Obit of Myra Frick Dated July 3, 1963. Newspaper unknown. Myra Frick, 84, Johnston City, Dies in Herrin Mrs. Myra Frick, 84, 309 West Broadway, Johnston City, died at 5:30 pm Wednesday, at the Ridley nursing home in Herrin. Mrs. Frick had been at the nursing home for two weeks and had been in ill health for about two years. She resided in Johnston City with her son-in- law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James F. Parker Sr. Mrs. Frick was a pioneer of Johnston City, born near West Frankfort on Aug 30, 1878, she moved to Johnston City when she was eight years old and had lived there 72 years. Her husband, Robert Frick, died in 1909. She was a member of the Washington Ave. Baptist Church and a charter member of Elwood Rebekah Lodge no 581 of Johnston City. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Hazel Parker; a son Leo Frick, Marion RFD; a brother Ben Lawrence of Johnston City, and a half-brother Hart Lawrence of Johnston City. Funeral rites will be held at 2 pm Saturday at the Washington Avenue Baptist church wit the Rev. Harold L. Smith, pastor and Rev. H.E. Moore, Carbondale, officiating. Interment will be in the Boner cemetery south of this city. The body will be taken to the church at 1 pm Saturday to lie in state until the funeral service. The body is lying in state at the Murman-Wilson funeral home in Johnston City.
