Obit of Charles P. Hunter Dated in ink as Sept 2, 1960. Newspaper: Daily American of West Frankfort Illinois. Chas. P. Hunter, 76, Johnston City Ex-Farmer, Is Dead Charles P. Hunter, 76, retired Johnston City farmer, died at 8:30 pm Wednesday in the hospital at Herrin, where he had been a patient since suffering a cerebral hemorrhage Sunday. He had been ill for several years. Most of his life had been spent on his farm six miles east of Johnston City. Four years ago he went to live at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Link Hoffard, who also resides east of Johnston City. His wife Gertrude, died in 1953. Hunter was a member of the Primitive Baptist church, formerly located in Johnston City. In addition to his daughter he is survived by four grandchildren; a brother, George Hunter, east of Johnston City, and two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Atwood and Mrs. Stella Smith of Johnston City. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday at the Murman-Wilson funeral home in Johnston City, with Rev. Wayne Warren, Pastor of Number Six Freewill Baptist Church, east of Johnston City, officiating. Burial will be in the old Rosehill cemetery.
