Obit of Mrs. Robert E. Hickman Dated in by hand in ink as Nov 27, 1948. Newspaper unknown. Heart Attack is Fatal to Wife of Benton Attorney Mrs. Robert E. Hickman, 73, of Benton, wife of Attorney R.E. Hickman and mother of Joe Hickman, recently elected Franklin county state's attorney of Benton, died at 12:35 am today following a heart attack at her home, 137 West Webster Street in Benton. Mrs. Hickman was the former Delia Whittington, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilson W. Whittington, Franklin county pioneers. She was a member of the First Baptist church in Benton. In addition to her husband and son she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Howard Lewis and Mrs. Wm. Foulk of Benton; Miss Agness Hickman of Flora; another son, Robert Z. Hickman, Danville; two sisters, Mrs. Roseana Dial, Benton; Mrs. Alice Wallace, Marion; two brothers, George Whittington, Washington state; Sylvester Whittington of Marion, and seven grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Hickman, married in 1896, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary two years ago. The body is lying in state at the family home. Funeral rites will be held at 2 o'clock next Monday afternoon at Freeman funeral home in Benton with Rev. A.L. Lawson, the First Baptist Church pastor in Benton, officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows cemetery in Benton.
