Obit of Jimmy Higgerson Dated in by hand in ink as Mar 19, 1947. Newspaper unknown. Former Johnston City Boy Killed by Electricity Jimmy Laverne Higgerson, 13, of Gary Ind., was electrocuted at 5:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon while delivering his regular afternoon paper route. The youth was said to have been thrown from a bicycle against a lamp post, charged with electricity. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Higgerson of Gary, former residents of Johnston City, where he was born and resided until he was four years old. Brief funeral rites will be held tonight at the William-Burns funeral home in Gary, after which the body will be shipped to Johnston City and is expected to arrive there Friday morning. Another service will be observed at 2 pm Saturday afternoon from the Hathaway funeral home in Johnston City, with Rev. Woodrow Childers and Rev. S. M. Foulon officiating. Besides the parents, the youth is survived by a younger brother, Roger, and a sister, Nancy; and grandparents, Mrs. Agnes Higgerson and Mr. and Mrs. R.R. Hunter of Johnston City.
