Obit of Alice Lawrence Dated in ink as Oct 14, 1853. Newspaper: The Daily American, West. Frankfort Illinios. Alice Lawrence Died Wednesday in Johnston City. Mrs. Alice E. Lawrence, 77, died at 9:30 pm Wednesday in her home, 305 West Twelfth street in Johnston City. She was a sister of Wiley Horrell of this city. Mrs. Lawrence was a native of Franklin county. Survivors are a son, Lester L. Lawrence, Johnston City, and five daughters; Mrs. Robert Crowe, Johnston City; Mrs. Frank Grissom, Belleville; Mrs. C.B. Bond, Upland, Calf.; Mrs. John O. Alexander, Brooklyn, N.Y. and Mrs. Robert Lacey, Chicago. A grandson reared by Mrs. Lawrence, Earl Herzog of Johnston City, also survives. Other survivors are a sister Mrs. Ona Sellhausen, Ontarion, Calf., 12 grandchildren and 13 great grand children. The body is lying in state at the family home. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday at the First Methodist church in Johnston City, with Rev. J.W. Ditterline, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Bonder cemetery, south of this city.
