Obit of Ben Lawrence Dated in ink as March 28, 1947. Newspaper unknown but probably Johnston City or Marion. Mrs. Ben Lawrence, 678, a native of Williamson county, died at 5:15 pm Friday afternoon at her home, 303 West Tenth street, in Johnston City, after a year's illness. Mrs. Lawrence had lived most of her adult life in Johnston City. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Johnston City. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter Mrs. Paul Eli, Johnston City; a granddaughter, three sisters, Mrs. Sam Ahls, near Johnston city, Mrs. Fay Stamper, Guymon, Okla., and Mrs. George Felts, Gary Ind.; three brothers Hugh and Newt Fleming, Johnston City, and John Fleming, Carbondale. The body is lying in state at home. Funeral rites will be observed at 2 pm Sunday afternoon from the First Baptist Church in Johnston City, with Rev. L.H. Moore of Anna, former pastor of the Johnston City church officiating. Interment will be in Boner cemetery south of this city.
