Newspaper unknown William Latta Dies After Long Illness William Jackson "Jack" Latta, 77, 711 Ridge Ave. Carterville, died at 1 am today at the Creal Springs Nursing Home, whree he had been a patient one month. He was ill eight years. Mr. Latta was born on Sept 20, 1882 in Piggott, Ark., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Latta. On Feb 10, 1903 he married Fannie Radford at Piggott. She died June 28, 1959. He was a retired miner and a member of the Grand Av. Baptist Church. Mrs. Latta leaves daughters Mrs. Hubert Rushing and Mrs. Ryburn McCluskey, both of Carterville; sister Mrs. Will Nettles of Cambell, Mo; and brother Elmer of Piggott; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Thursday at the Grand Ave. Baptist Church, Carterville, with the Rev. Don Galehr, Grand Ave. Baptist Church pastor, officiateing. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. Friends may call after 6 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
