Obit of Cora Mae Murray Undated. (given text below, death date would have been May 2, 1950) Newspaper unknown but probably the Johnston City Progress. Death Claims Mrs. Cora Mae Murray Mrs. Cora M. Murray, 74, lifelong resident of this city, passed away Tuesday night at 11:45 pm at her home, 400 W. 9th Street following several years of illness with asthma. Death came just two days before her 74th birthday. She was born May 4, 1876. Her husband John Murray preceded her in death 17 years ago. Mrs. Murray was a faithful member of the Primitive Baptist church. Funeral services will be conducted there at 2 pm Friday by the pastor, Elder C.M. Weaver. Burial will be in the city cemetery. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Verna Malone of Little Rock, Ark. and three step-daughters: Mrs. Viola Jordan of DuQuoin, Mrs. Lillith Baysinger of West Frankfort, Mrs. Ethel Berkholtz of Carterville; one sister Mrs. Eva Bittie of Memphis, Tenn., and eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
