Obit of Arthur Woodward Only date is "1960" no month or day given. Newspaper is unknown. Funeral Rites for Arthur Woodward, 67, of Benton, Wednesday. Funeral services will be conducted for Arthur V. Woodward, 67, 402 North Main Street, Benton by Elder T. Leo Dodd and Elder J.D. Vanderveer at the Primitive Baptist church in Benton, Wednesday, at 10:30 am. Woodward, a weigh master at Freeman Coal Company's Orient No. 2 mine, died suddenly Sunday morning at his home. A county resident since 1924, he was a veteran of World War 1, a member of the Masonic Lodge at Virden and a member of the Primitive Baptist church. Besides his wife, the former Helen Rainey, he is survived by two sons, John J. Woodward, Chicago and Verner A. Woodward, Urbana and sisters, Mrs. Essie Howard, Thayer and Mrs. Iona Watkins, Jacksonville. The body will line in state at the Mitchell funeral home in Benton. Interment will be in the cemetery at Irving.
