Obit of Frank Wente Dated in ink as Aug 28, 1947. Newspaper unknown Injuries Fatal to Frank Wente, Johnston City. Frank Wente, 71, Johnston City coal miner, died at 3:30 o'clock here yesterday from injuries received a few hours earlier at Old Ben Mine No. 11, Coello, when caught in a coal conveyor. Wente was said to have been greasing a stove drag on a sizing plant, while standing between flights of a coal conveyer, when the conveyor unexpectedly started. He was brought to Union hospital shortly after noon yesterday. Both legs and his left arm were broken and he sustained severe lacerations about the pelvic region, it was said. Wente had been a resident of Johnston City forty-five years. He was a member of the First Methodist church and the K. of P. lodge in Johnston City. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Hudgins Wente; two daughters, Mrs. Loren Love of Christopher and Mrs. Russell Fehrenbaker of Johnston City; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a half-brother Arthur A. Wente of Los Angeles, Calf. The body is lying in state at the home, 502 West Eighth street, Johnston City. Funeral rites will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the First Methodist church in Johnston City, with Rev. Homer Young officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery at Marion.
