I certify that John Walters volunteered and served service as a second Sergeant in a company of mounted Rangers under my command, ordered on the 16th day of April, for the protection of the northern frontier, in the Battalion command of Major Isaiah Stillman; that he was enrolled on the 28th day of April, 1832, and was killed in battle while in the line of duty, on the 14th day of May thereafter, having served sixteen days.
