The Intelligencer [Edwardsville IL] December 30, 1891
Leopold Stocker, something of a historic figure, died at Avon, Christmas 
night, aged 85 years. He was an Austrian by birth and in 1825 arrived at 
Bordentown, N. J. with Lucian Murat. Soon after his arrival he entered the 
service of Joseph Bonaparte, as valet de chambre and remained a close 
companion until the king's death. He came to Illinois in 1853 and has since 
resided in Fulton county.
