Second Street. Physicians attending Mr. Carter said that death was due to heart trouble, an ailment which he has been suffering with for the past several days. He was known to many as "Jim". Mr. Carter was a member of the miner's union, but in recent years he had been doing some trucking. BORN NEAR CANTON He was born near Canton on March 7, 1882, the son of Andy and Martha Ruark Carter. On June 20, 1908, Mr. Carter married Addie Engle, the ceremony being performed at Breeds, IL, a little town in Fulton County. Mr. Carter is survived by the following children: Lorraine Barger, Wayne, Marietta and Andy Carter, all of this city. Also the following brothers and sisters; Andy Carter, Aurora: William Carter, Pontiac; Frank Carter, Mendota; Mrs. Jack Anderson, Peoria, and Mrs. Robert Williams of Canton, and one grandson, Jack Carter. Funeral Services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at Kuecks funeral home, where friends are invited to call. Rev. W.H. Storm, pastor of the Christian church, will be in charge.
