At first his injuries were not thought to be serious. Deceased was, at the time of receiving his .injuries, coming with a loaded trip of two cars out of the sixth east entry of main south. On this entry there is a slight grade in favor of the loads, which requires the service of a sprag to control the momentum of the cars. He had just put in the sprag, and then jumped on the tail- chain, his usual place of riding, but this time the mule jerked about the time Murray jumped on the chain, and threw him out. He fell across the rails, the cars running over him crushed him internally, which resulted in his death on the 14th of November.
