        WILLIAM NICKLOSS and MISS ANN W. HERNDON according to the usual
        custom and laws of the State of Illinois, and you are  required
        to return this License  to  me  within  thirty  days  from  the
        celebration of such Marriage, with a Certificate  of  the  same
        appended thereto and signed by you under  the  Penalty  of  One
        hundred Dollars.
           
        In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and the Seal of said County this
twenty eighth day of March A.D. 1869

        WILLIAM NICKLOSS being duly sworn says that the paper  hereunto
        arrived bearing date March 26th  1869  giving  consent  to  his
        marriage as was Executed by SARAH FERGUSON who is Mother of ANN
        W. HERNDON whom he is about to  marry,  and  that  said  person
        there is discribed as A. W. FERGUSON is in fact ANN W.  HERNDON
        and that said SARAH FERGUSON has no other daughter except  said
        A. W. HERNDON & intended to have that name  inscribed  in  said
        paper. She not being able to read.
