"Tom" Ramsey, 88, longtime resident of Gallatin County, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002 at the home of his son in Evansville, Ind. Mr. Ramsey was born Jan. 2, 1914 in Cottonwood, the son of Floyd and Fannie (Dillard) Ramsey. He married Flora Browning in 1934, and she preceded him in death in 1996. He was a past Gallatin County Board member, past supervisor of Asbury Township and a 50-year member of Ridgway Masonic Lodge 816. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Tommy and Margo Ramsey of Norris City, Joe and Pat Ramsey of Auborn and Terry Ramsey of Evansville, Ind.; a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Jerry Wood of Jasper, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and a brother, Clyde Ramsey of Boonville, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a grandchild, four sisters, a brother and a daughter-in-law. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cox & Son Funeral Home in New Haven, the Rev. Dennis Vaughn officiating. Burial will be at Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven.
