Mr. CREST came to the United States in 1840 and settled at Albany, N.Y. He married Mary OBERLY at Albany, N.Y. in 1845, who died in 1887. Mr. CREST was the father of nine children, six of whom survive him: Mrs. WARREN and Mrs. SMITH, of Opdike; Mrs. J. RUBENAKER, Chas. H., Geo. E., and Frank A. of this place. The funeral took place from the family residence yesterday. Crest, Sr. Rites Held in Equality Friday George Edward Crest, Sr., 83, retired farmer and life-long resident of Gallatin county, passed away at the home of his son, John Crest and family of near Equality, Wednesday last week at 4 p.m. After the body was prepared at the Turner Funeral Home in Harrisburg, the remains were returned to the Crest home where it lay in state until the funeral hour. Services were held from the Equality Methodist church Friday afternoon at 2 o(clock, services conducted by Rev. Ira Thetford. Interment was in Elmwood cemetery. Mr. Crest was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Crest, emigrants from Germany. He was born in Equality, February 11, 1866. On December 24, 1890 he was united in marriage with Miss Rebecca Sisk. They were parents of four children. One daughter, Mrs. Ruth Syers, passed away in 1943. Mr. Crest is survived by his aged companion, one daughter, Mrs. Beulah Lively of Brighton and two sons, E. G. (G.E.) Crest, Jr. of Harrisburg and John of near Equality. He also leaves 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Kate Warren, 92 years of age, who resides at Lewiston (Idaho). Mr. Crest(s entire life was spent in and near Equality where he was a well known farmer until his retirement several years ago. The funeral was largely attended. She was married on June 15, 1926 to John Anthony Crest, who preceded her in death on June 20, 1978. She was born on May 16, 1903, in Gallatin County, to the late David Mack and Ollie Ann Patton Woods. Mrs. Crest was a member of Social Brethren Church of Kedron. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Cecil and Reita Church of Harrisburg and Martin and Ruth Colbert of St. John, Ind.; and a son and daughter-in- law, John David and Tammi Crest of Equality; a sister, Isophine Carnett of Harrisburg; a brother, Harry Woods of Godfrey; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Nancy Miller and Ruby Syers, two sisters, Eva Gulley and Edna Ruth Bullard, two brothers, Roscoe Woods and Logan Woods and two infant brothers. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality, where visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev.
