Cather the individual who made the foregoing Declaration for Pension Money was formerly known to him while residing in the State of Ohio at, and previous to the year 1812 – That he a brother of said Robert M Cather and lived with his father at the time Robert M Cather left his home in the said State and enlisted in the Army of the United States in the War of 1812. That he knew said Robert M Cather to have been an able bodied man, fully competent to perform Military duty at the time he enlisted in said War … Cincinnati Ohio. That he was at home, when said Robert M Cather returned in the Spring of 1814, after an absence of about Six Months – That when he returned he, Robert M. Cather was riding on a horse, and was unable to get off alone, and assistance was rendered him before he could dismount – That the cause of his disability was reumatism, as was stated at the time, and as he always understood – that he knows the said Robert M. Cather while in said service, and that he has Rheumatism ever since, caused by said service. That he remembers said Robert M. Cather under took to learn this wagon makers trade sometime after his return from said War, And after he had recovered a little, by means of the constant application of remedies but he was unable to do work as it on account of the rheumatism in his back and hips, and was compelled to quit after a few days. He has not seen the said R. M.
