I would have answered it Sooner but I wanted to See Father before I wroat but I have faild. I have bin looking for him down to see me for some time, but he has not come yet, and another reason, I have had considerable affliction in my family, Since I received yours and even at the time it came. I have lost my youngest daughter Since. She was my youngest child 7 years old. She died with the typhoid fever. This is the 3rd child I have lost. We have had 7 childrin 3 are gon to the Spirit land 2 in infancy one in hur 16 year. I have no doubt but thy are all in Hevan rejoicing to gather. The oldest died rejoicing Shouting the high Prases of Almighty God. The other 4 are all Professers of religion and are members of the C.P. Church. My family is now well and harty through the mercy of God. And I hope when these lines are receved will find you and yours all injoing the same blessing. My Fathers health is very good for an old man. All the family is well, that is living, or was a few days since. 2 of my Brothers are ded. Bro. Washington & Zechariah. Boath Died in the triumphs of a living faith, there is 5 Brothers of us yet living. Bro. (Thomas Allen Bell, lives in Iowa, Davis Co Bloomfield) Brothers Francis Martin Bell, John Jefferson Bell & William Carroll Bell lives in Green Co Ill (address is Carrollton, Ill) all are married and have considerable familys. I have 3 sisters one in Misora 2 in Green Co, Ill. My youngest Sister lives with father. The oldes married a man by the name of Clark, the next married Jessey Allen old Uncle Zachs son. The other married a man by the name of Howard. There names are Margaret, Mary & Margreann. Uncle Zach Allens family is partly living in Green Co, Ill, and a part in Henderson but Jessey Allen, Samuel Georg is in Green. Zach and John is ded of the old set. Thomas and Sarah of the youngest set is ded. Old Uncle Zachs widow is ded and has ben for many years. Old Grandfathers Allens bois are living 2 of them Samuel and William Thomas, Josiah & John is ded. Samuel lives in Misoria. William is Green Co, Ill. Uncle John Allens family is all ded him Self Wife and all the children there was 12 in family thy are all gon the last one died about 18 months ago Sarah She married a Neece, was the last one that died all died with the Lung complaint. The Marland family I cannot tell anything about them they all went a way from the countrey a number of years ago they never don any good in the Countery. The Pinkerton is all well as far as I know. Andrew James William and John is living where they first settled and is doing very well. the gurls is all living but Ratchel. She is ded. She is all the one that maried after Poly that married William Allen. She lived only a Short time after She married. Joh Pinkerton is not married yet he is living with his sisters and has ever since the old father died. David Pinkerton is ded and Severeal of his Boys. There is 5 gurls living at home with there mother and youngest Brother. they are doing very well making a good living. There post office address is Carrollton, Green Co. Ill. The live in the same neighborhood that father lives in. My fathers health is very good for an old man. He rides in his bugery gose to Every meeting in his reach injoyes him self very much the old man is very religious indeed but few men of his age that is more yousful than he is. Ever since he joined the Cumberlands which has bin 7 years ago his children are all religious 3 of the bois are Elders in the C.P. Church 2 of them C.P. Preachers. The 2 that died died in the triumphs of a living faith this is in coriaging in deed. It dos the old man a grate deel of good to hear from his old frinds and conections when he gets a letter from them you could not please him much better than to write to him. I will now bring my letter to a close by saying times hear is very fare at the present we had a late Spring but Every thing looks well considering all produse is high, wages all so. Everything seams to be on Equality. We have a very Exlant Country indeed. Now my dear Cousin let me say to you if we never meet on Earth let us meet in Heaven. I do not now whether you are religious but if you are not you aught to be. Will you write soon and let me know all a bout matters and things. I would like to keep up a coraspondance. I do not know one half of my conections in that County. I would like to have all there names and address. I have written to Cousin Robert Bell in Nashville but have got no answer since I was there. Why I cannot tell. I wrote to Donal but got no answer. I hope you will answer and I will do the same. Write soon. May the Good Lord Bless you and yours. D.R. Bell Religion is the Chief Consern.
