Obituary of Jacob Rudolph MARCH, Greene County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Racerbarb White Hall Register, Feb 1901-- Jacob Rudolph March Jacob Rudolph March Died at his home in Drake on Sunday, Feb 24, 1901 at one p.m., Jacob Rudolph March, aged 48 years, 11 months and 24 days. Deceased was born near Woodville, Feb 28, 1852, and has resided in this county all his life. He was weeded to Miss Matilda J McAdams on Sept 8, 1872. To there were born eight children, seven of whom survive, namely, Daisy A., Alva A, Robert H., Grace E, Roy R., Sarah O. E. and an infant son. Mr March professed faith in Christ about 11 years ago and was at that time a happy convert, but for some cause never attached himself to the church, and like many of us has not constantly manifested Christ in his life as he should, yet according to the testimony of those who best knew him there has always been a deep underlying current of principle in his life for the right, and always instructed his children to live right. He was a kind father, an obliging neighbor and a very industrious man, with an eye to the payment of his debts. His family believe that in the last days and hours of his life his mind was on heavenly things and before passing over he realized his acceptance with God. Services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Patterson Church, Rev. Wm. Gaither, officiating, with a soul comforting discourse, after which the remains were taken in charge by he M.W.A. and buried with the honors of the fraternity. Deceased held a policy in the above lodge for $2,000 and also one in the Home Forum for $1,000. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations or persons.
