Obituary of Mrs Matilda Jane MARCH, Greene County,Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Racerbarb The Roodhouse Record, Roodhouse, Greene Co., IL Thursday, January 28, 1941 Aged Resident Called by Death Mrs. Matilda Jane March, aged 85 years, 1 month and 15 days, passed away at her home in Roodhouse at 9:20 a.m., Tuesday, January 21, 1941, following an illness of flu and complications. Her maiden name was Matilda Jane McAdams, and she was born and reared near Carrollton. She was united in marriage sixty-eight years ago to Rudolph March of Carrollton, who died in 1901. Most of their married life was spent in the Patterson community, and she was a member of the Patterson Baptist church. Mrs. March has resided in Roodhouse for thirteen years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Grace Reber of Granite City, and Mrs. Elnora Tucker of Roodhouse; four sons, Alva March, Norwood, MO., Robert March, Jacksonville, Rev Roy March, Hettick; Leverett March, Wood River. There are also nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Reeve Funeral Home at two o'clock this (Thursday) afternoon, conducted by Rev. Lloyd Spencer.
