While doing volunteer data entry at our local library in
Ontario, California, I came across this obituary which might be
of some interest to someone on this list. This does not relate
to any surname that I am researching personally. Nancy

Edward B. (Bill) Williams, 501 North Cucamonga avenue, father
of the late Reed C. Williams, former Ontario bank official,
died yesterday afternoon at San Antonio hospital, following a
sudden heart attack. He was 79 years of age.

A native of Carrollton, Ill., Mr. Williams, a machinery broker
by occupation, came to California 40 years ago. First settling
in San Diego, he later moved to Pasadena and became a resident
of this community only a year ago.

Surviving Mr. Williams are his widow, a granddaughter, Mrs.
James Seminoff (Rosemary Williams), Pasadena [I suspect this
should read daughter]; a sister, Mrs. Ida Giller, Asherton,
Tex.; two nephews, Charles Williams, San Diego, and Gen. Gregon
A. Williams, serving in Korea, and three grandchildren. A
sister-in-law, Miss Etta Kerman, resides at the Cucamonga
avenue address.

Funeral services for the broker, semi-private, will be
conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Richardson chapel, 123 West
G street, with the Rev. S. Grundy Fisher of the First Christian
church, officiating. Private cremation will follow, with the
ashes to be sent to Mexico, Mo., for interment.
