Obituary of Myrtle THOMPSON, Greene County, Illinois This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Mary Hillman Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Thompson and other relatives from this locality attended the funeral in Roddhouse Wednesday of Miss Myrtle Thompson, aged about 50 years who died at a hospital at Sycamore early Sunday morning, March 25, 1928 after a prolonged illness with cancer. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Thompson of Roodhouse and resided in that city all her life. Since graduatig from the Roodhouse high school she had devoted her time to teachinng, specializing in elocutionary work, holding positions in colleges in Texas, Kansas, and other places. Some months ago her health failed, she went to Sycamore to recieve special care and treatment from her brother, Dr. Orville Thompson. Besides her parents she is survived by one other brother Earl Thompson, of Chicago. Rev G. W. Claxon of the Baptist church had charge of the services.
